The AFCS 9905 Committee is made up of 11 members (6 Ladies and 5 Gentlemen) charged with ensuring the smooth running of the association and ensuring all plans for the 10th year anniversary reunion are realized.
Criteria for Selecting Members
The early Committee was birthed out of a pool of individuals who were noted for their previous track record. Most of them had been involved in organizing previous reunions for the class; functioning in one capacity or the other. Also, a few weeks ago, class members were given the opportunity to volunteer to become part of the committee. Some class members indicated interest and were immediately absorbed into the Committee. Furthermore, some people were also approached based on their professional competency (being lawyers) to serve as Legal Advisors to the committee.
Criteria for Selecting Positions
Positions were deliberated on and mutually agreed upon by members during the Committee’s 5th meeting. Careful consideration was exercised to ensure that Committee members function in positions they are best suited for.
Powers & Responsibilities
Each officer of the Committee is dubbed a ‘Secretary’. Details of each Secretary’s duty is contained in the Associations Constitution which would be disseminated to the Class in due time.
Tenure
Committee members are to serve in their various capacities till such a period when the Class agrees on and successfully conducts its inaugural elections (as the constitution permits). At such a time, positions would be handed over to duly elected members.
