Today, we commence voting for two categories. Achievement in Career/Business/Entertainment/Sports and Achievenment in Education/SocialWorks/Science/Tech.

You are requested to select a candidate in your opinion most deserving of this recognition.

Its ‘UNCLE SHEF’ Ladies & Gents

Who doesn’t  remember Sherrif Salami a.k.a Uncle Sheff.  He was the coach of the basket ball team for many years and led us to a lot of victories.  He was also a favourite among students from 1998 till about 2008.  He was young, jovial and sometimes annoying but we all loved him.  Here he is pictured with an Alumni- Flg Offr DS Ugbor.  We would probably invite him to the next reunion.  Wonder if he still gives ‘without without’.

Happy Retiremnet to a few of our ex-teachers

A few of the people who tutored us back in secondary school will be retiring this year.  The likes of Mr Osuntoogun (Accounting Teacher/ School Shop) and Mr Kolade (P.H.E Teacher & Handball Coach) will be bidding farewell to the noble profession.  Many of them retired before now and many more will retire in the near future.  In the near future, the Alumni may embark on some sort of welfare scheme for them (fingers crossed).

Wishing them a peaceful and happy retirement.

AAAs: About The Categories

In preparation for the AFCS 9905 Alumni Awards (AAAs), we deemed it fit to throw a little light on the award categories.  Basically, there will be 3 categories for the awards.  The first two categories are ‘voting categories’.  This means that members of the class would have a chance at voting for the nominee they feel is most deserving.  The last category is a ‘non-voting category’.  This winner in category will be selected by the Executive Committee (after careful deliberation).

Remember the awards are to be held ever year and winners to emerge on September 9th (9/9) each year.  The categories are:

1.  Achievement in Career/Business/Entertainment/Sports. (Voting Category)
2. Achievement in Education/Social-works/Science/Technology. (Voting Category)
3. Alumni of the year. (Non-Voting Category)
